Hardwood floor maintenance

How to clean and improve the look of hardwood

Hardwood floor products are BIG business. Have you ever checked out the floor cleaner section in Home Depot? It's enough to make your head spin! But some of the big promises of many of those little bottles are convincing enough to make you at least wonder about their credibility. Our flooring products roundup features products tested by the Neighborhooding team in their own homes.

Rejuvenate

This product works SO well. It shines, makes floor color look more homogenous, decreases the look of nicks and scratches and protects floors for about three months. Splurge on the microfiber mop bonnet: which fits on top of the Home Depot brand sponge mop perfectly. More product info. here.

Swiffer Wet Jet

Mopping with a traditional fabric mop feels less like cleaning and more like dirt relocation as far as we're concerned. The beauty of the Swiffer Wet Jet is it traps dirt in the pad and wipes then wipes the floor clean.  We look forward to Swiffer Sundays because the floors are literally left sparkling and and the house smells amazing (we love the Fresh Scent). Panasonic Jet Force Canister Vacuum

This vacuum is legit. We consulted Consumer Reports before making the investment, and though it’s pricey, you can’t skimp on vacuum genius. We love it because it’s bagless, maneuvers easily, sucks up stuff like a boss, features options for different carpet lengths, isn’t too heavy and comes with a few different sucker accessories.
