Why we love: Lincoln Park #4

Stats: 2 bed, 2 bath apartment

Rachel, Brett and their Lincoln Park apartment are so quintessentially cute! Recently married, this is their first place together, and they really did such a great job making it feel special. On top of that, these cuties love exploring their neighborhood on weekends, so they have tons to share.

If you're ever stuck in a rut and inspired by Rachel's creative decor ideas, check out her lifestyle blog, An Eventful Life for all the ins and outs to making life prettier.

How long have you lived in your home?
Two years. We moved here from the Lakeview/Wrigleyville area.

Why did you originally move here?
We have a unique story: this was the only unit we saw! My husband's friend from college owns our unit, so it was kind of a no-brainer.

How long do you plan to live here?
We actually recently moved to a new condo in Lakeview.
Editor's note: Stay tuned for a guest blog post from Rachel about her perspective on the home buying and remodeling processes!

What is your favorite part of your home?
I love how big the kitchen is, and the dining room/living room combination since it's perfect for entertaining.

What is your least favorite part of your home?
We don't get a ton of natural light since we're on the first floor. The only place this actually works to our advantage is the bedroom!

What is your favorite part of your neighborhood?
I love being able to walk to the Green City Market and Lincoln Park Zoo.

What is your least favorite part of your neighborhood?
Our first complaint was solved with the new Whole Foods opened! I also wish we were a little closer to the train.

What are you favorite local establishments?
Stan's Doughnuts
Sweet Mandy B's
Butcher & The Burger
Sapori Trattoria
Taco Burrito Palace #2

How do you get to work?
I take the Red Line from Fullerton to Grand/Lake, which takes about 30 minutes door-to-door.

Where do you grocery shop?
The Mariano's on Ashland and the Jewel on Southport.

Are you friends with your neighbors?
Ha, no!

Does your neighborhood feel safe?
Very safe. We live very close to our local Alderman's Office, which definitely helps. On top of that, our block is constantly busy and full of people since we live by Kingston Mines and 24-hour Mexican restaurants!

What is the general vibe of your neighborhood?
A good mix of DePaul students, young professionals and families.

Are some areas of your neighborhood more favorable than others?
I feel like from Southport east is the most desirable area, but really the closer you are to the Lake, the harder it is to find parking!
