Why we love: Noble Square

Stats:
2 bed, 2 bath condo (three-flat building)

Rick, Lauren and Millie Regole live on the second floor of a three flat built in 2013. They bought directly from the builder and were able to work with the builder to choose a few finishes, such as light fixtures.

How long have you lived in your home?
We closed in April of 2013.

Why did you originally move here?
We fell in love with the property. We definitely picked the property over the neighborhood, but we knew we wanted to move west and Noble Square was close to where we wanted to be.

How long do you plan to live here?
Another two-three years.

What is your favorite part of your home?
The open floor plan, large island, master bathroom and our walk in closet.

What is your least favorite part of your home?
Walking up the stairs to the second floor.

What is your favorite part of your neighborhood?
Rick: All the Mexican food.
Lauren: I like that it's close to great restaurants, not far from downtown and close to the highway.

What is your least favorite part of your neighborhood?
It seems like there's a lot of garbage in the streets around here, and also the local schools aren't great.

What are you favorite local stores or restaurants?
Our favorite restaurants are Lovely Bake Shop, Frontier, Ruxbin and The Butcher & Larder.

How do you get to work?
Rick: I drive to the suburbs, which can take anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on traffic.

Where do you grocery shop?
Whole Foods at North and Clybourn, exclusively.

Where do you plan to move next?
The suburbs, probably Glen Ellyn.

Are you friends with your neighbors?
Rick's brother lives above us, so yes!

Does your neighborhood feel safe?
Yes.

What is the general vibe of your neighborhood?
Up and coming, hodge podge, gritty.

Are some areas of your neighborhood more favorable than others?
Living close to Ashland is more desirable for those who use the Blue Line.
